Blush Corp: mood

Soo here is a part of the final Blush Corp background for my mood project along with the page in my little black book I used to form the background. It is the mood of the set I want to create and also emulates the red curtain of the theatre. Done surprisingly enough with Elmer's Paintastic Brush Pens. They blended beautifully!

Blush Corp: Corporal Conunudrum

This was a little prep for my mood boards for my thesis. I ended up not using this but was trying to make more green splatter that fit Corporal Conundrum. I realized I used the darker green accidentally at first on the bottom so i switched into the brighter green then added the Corporal figure just for fun. Done with Elmer's Paintastic Brush Pens.

Blush Corp: mood start

This was the start of working on mood boards for my thesis which is Blush Corp. The different colors represent the different minions of Blush. Green is Corporal Conundrum, the orange spots are Subtlety, and the teal splashes are Retna Burn. Done with Elmers Paintastic Brush Pens

Blush Corp:Blush

This is one of my favorite ones. It is just a portrait of my character Blush. It was done with Elmer's Paintastic Brush Pens and sharpie. I really like the stark colors I got and going in with the sharpie to get the feathers more rough. I used what I learned with the sharpies not bleeding to be able to get the feathers how I wanted and added the background over them.

Doodle: Water splash

This one breaks the black book a little. It is playing with creating waters that surround Naomi in the second piece I've uploaded.
Did this with pen, Elmer's Paintastic Brush Pens, and white gelli roll pens.

Doodle: Watercolor pencil

This was one of my my experimental pages. It was going off of a pose I found in an art book I had. I decided to bust out some of the old tools I haven't used forever. I used my watercolor pencils and some of the green from the Joan Wilder piece bled over onto this one.

Seraph Chronicles: Joan Wilder

This is my character Joan Wilder (yes I know it's ripping off Romancing the Stone and that's on purpose). She is a romance novel writer so I was trying to do this pin pose against a pen. Of course I still haven't succeeded in drawing this pose yet. Elements I do like is the signature and playing with splatter.
It actually took forever for the black ink to dry. Done with Elmer's Paintastic Brushe Pens.

Villain Wars: Mai

This is Mai an angel character of mine. I was going off of an earlier pose I had done in an old sketchbook.
I worked with the Elemer's Paintastsic Brush Pens again and tried to experiment a little with sharpies. I didn't realize how well the sharpies would hold and thought they would bleed a little. That is why there is the awkward lines in the top left corner. It took a while till I would use sharpies again in here.
Overall this is not one of my favorites but I did like how the colors in the hair blended together.

Dorian's train of thought

This is the form of Dorian a frequent character my friend Shawna and I write with. She is fated never to be loved in return and die for that love. Sadly most the time she knows her fate ruins the life of the one she cares for. She is extremely possessive and usually a main villain in some of our stories. To see more of Dorian check out Contoured Characters.

Done with a white Gelli Roll pen for the text and those wonderful Elmers Paintastic Brush Pens! I loved discovering how the white pen would soak up the colors I'd put down on the page.

Black Book Experiments

Welcome to my new blog. This does not mean my blog Contoured Characters is done. I just feel like the content there doesn't quite fit what I want to do here. This one is a place where I will post my little experiments in medium whether they be good or bad. I started this at the beginning of this school year Fall 2010. Tell me what you think if you like. Now hopefully you'll have more to follow with me and not less.
